Our Three Day Tawa Cove Package includes all accommodation (en suite, private rooms) luggage transfers, all water taxi transfers, a visit to a bird sanctuary island plus a full information kit. Your lunch is included every day as well as continental breakfasts. We will even pick you up from you accommodation in Picton and take you back there when you finish your walk.

DAY 1 - Picton - Ships Cove to Tawa Cove
Approx walking time- 14Km's - 4.5 hours
Pick up from local accommodation.
Boat cruise from Picton- A full commentary is given as you make your way along the Queen Charlotte Sound, before stopping to visit a protected, predator free island to see rare saddleback birds.
Begin the walk at Ships Cove and learn about the historical and natural aspects of this area.
Fabulous 360 degree vistas as you walk amongst tree ferns and Nikau palms to your accommodation for this evening at Tawa Cove Cabins

DAY 2 - Punga Cove to Tawa Cove Cabins
Approx walking time- 15Km's - 5 hours
After a relaxed breakfast transfer by boat from Tawa Cove to Punga Cove and walk the second section of the track in reverse back to Tawa Cove. Pop in to Ferneaux Lodge as your walking past for a cold drink or coffee before continuing on to Tawa Cove.
The highlight of todays walk is the abundance of native bird life along this section of the track. You may even have the opportunity to meet one of New Zealand's cheekiest native birds, the Weka.

DAY 3 - Punga Cove to Torea Bay
Approx walking time- 23Km's - 7.5 hours
Today you have two options. Either transfer back to Picton by morning water taxi arriving around lunchtime or walk to Torea Bay and get a boat back to Picton at 5pm.
Both options require a minimum of two guests.
If you are walking an early morning boat transfer to Punga Cove from Tawa Cove is included.
The third days section of the track involves expansive ridge top walking with stunning views for the majority of the day. Considered the most challenging day of the trip yet extremely well rewarding.
